Since 1899

In 1899 a first little hut was built in Val d`Anniviers by the initiative of Chrétien Theytaz. It was thought as shelter fort the first tourists and mountaineers arriving here.

In the past, the hut has survived two fires and it was undertaken several expansions. Later renovation works led to the standard today, which is well appreciated by the guests.

In the last century several caretakers have worked here. But all with the same intention: to let the visitors experience the beautiful mountain scene. In the heart of the „ Kaiserkrone“, enthroned on a moraine, as witness of the ever changing nature, the lodge serves furthermore its original aim: The caretaking and lodging of guests.

Wellcome in familial environment

The hut is looked after by Sarah and Christophe Beney-Melly, a local family with 3 children living in the Val d’Anniviers.

Continuing the family tradition of caretaking, they are delighted to welcome you at the foot of the majestic Besso and the imperial crown.

The janitors and their team welcome visitors with simplicity and enthusiasm, to share with them this corner of the mountains that is so precious to them.
